Void Filling
Void beneath concrete slabs can be filled with Polyurethane foam designed to work in wet or dry conditions.
Polyurethane foam conforms to void shape more accurately than cement grout, and – unlike cement – it doesn’t shrink or sink over time.
The following concrete slabs can be injected with Polyurethane Foam to eliminate void under concrete:
- Basement floor Void Filling.
- Driveway Void Filling.
- Garage Floor Void Filling.
- Parking lot Void Filling.
- Patio Void Filling.
- Pool Deck Void Filling.
- Porch Void Filling.
- Sidewalk Void Filling..
- Steps and Stoop Void Filling.
- Walkway Void Filling.
- Warehouse Floor Void Filling.
SUNKEN CONCRETE? Don’t Replace It – We Raise It!
how concrete lifting and leveling works?
Polyurethane concrete raising also called Slabjacking, Polyjacking, concrete lifting and concrete leveling.
Polyurethane concrete lifting and leveling attempts to lift a sunken concrete slab by injecting Polyurethane foam through small holes into the concrete slab, effectively raising it up from below.
The following are the steps on how Concrete raising and Leveling works:
- The slab jacking process generally begins with drilling 3/8″ holes into the concrete, strategically located to maximize lift.
- Initial material injections will fill any under slab void space.
- When the material is injected under a high pressure into the concrete slab, the air bubbles expands and the resin reacts and become solid foam.
- During the injection, the material will expand in all directions and fill any voids in week soils under the slab causing the sub-soils to become more dense and stable.
- Once the void space is filled, subsequent injections will start lifting the concrete immediately.
- After the slabs are lifted, the access holes are patched and the work is complete.
The benefits of using Polyurethane Concrete raising and Leveling
- Cost Effective: cheaper than demolition, soil remediation, and slab replacement.
- Quick Cure Time: typically, polyurethane cures within 15 minutes after injection. With this short time span, you’re able to walk the area, even on hot days.
- Hydrophobic: specifically designed polyurethane can be used underwater or in wet conditions.
- Strength: The foam will retain its structure and strength, reducing the possibility of new gaps or settlement.
- Lightweight: concrete weighs 150 lbs. per cubic foot, where polyurethane weighs 3 lbs. per cubic foot (meaning it will not overburden your soil).
- 3/8″ Injection Holes: the injection holes for a polyurethane raising and leveling are approximately the size of a dime. This allows for less visible patching.
- Eco-friendly: Polyurethane foam is made in part from recycled and renewable materials. It won’t rot underground, nor will it pollute the surrounding soil and groundwater. The longevity of polyurethane foam also makes it less likely that property owners will have to repeat the repair process, helping them to conserve resources.
